My name is Mehmudah.

I am:

A writer,

  2. Hi Mehmudah,
Your blog posts are quite the food for thought kind!
I am a journalist with a paper in AD and was wondering if I could get in touch with you for a couple of stories related to the Pakistani education scene in the country.
Think you can get in touch on the supplied email id?
Looking forward to hearing from you
    Cheers

  3. you have a great blog…the posts really do the talking and tell much about the writer…i like it. and nice to meet you!

  4. Hi Mehmudah,

My site went down because I stupidly messed with the coding. Took two days to get it back up … after I begged hubby endlessly. Pays to marry an IT specialist – finally I know. hehehe.

Your page looks fantastic. I wanted to say this earlier that I am a very private person as well. That being said, I think I can still share a lot about myself on my about me page – we just have to pick things that aren’t so personal. Your page is the perfect example of that. I enjoyed reading each and every word and get a clear idea of you as a perosn.Fianlly, what a treat it is to read blogs written by talented writers such as yourself. Well done! :)

  5. Hey Marya,

Thank you so much! Actually it was because of you that I decided to make a proper about page… glad you like it!

On another note, you are quite talented yourself, and I’m pretty sure Writing Happiness will go places. Take care.. and thanks for dropping by!

  6. Assalam o alikum!

finally i found u mehmudah!!:-)-Muzna here-springfield school?u disappeared from facebook and rightly so.i sooooo love reading what you write:-)

  7. your article in online dawn news today really impressed me and took me to this blog site. I admire and appreciate such articulate writing and wish one day I could express myself half as well as you do. It is actually the essence of your writings that struck a cord with me, how I felt the same during fasting month, how I feel about muslims who forget how to be human and so on. Wish to continue reading such superb articles just as much as I wish my country was a sane place to be. warm wishes from Down Under

  8. Hiyya,

I’ve been meaning to visit your blog for a while now; it keeps slipping my mind. After reading around, you’ve got a nice writing voice…nice blog :)

Also, is it Um-Manaal or Umm-Anaal? Wasn’t sure how to differentiate the name, but if your daughter’s name is Manaal, it’ll be the first time I’ve heard of another Manaal and even spelled the same way :) (My daughter’s name is Manaal as well)

Anyway, thanks for stopping my little ol’ blog and I’ll be checking in from time to time :)

  9. Thank you Amira! It’s Manaal, and yeah, its a first for me too! I know a couple of Manals but it’s the first time I’ve come across Manaal.

I love how you write — you almost always make me smile or laugh. Take care then, and hope to see you around!

  10. I’ve recently taken to sending my friends links to blog posts that I enjoy reading when finally one of my quarries emailed me and wondered how I have the time to find all these delightful (her words, not mine) posts unless I am on the computer all day. I told her it’s all because of blog incest – she didn’t care for that phrase much but laughed when I explained that often when I click on a link to a link to a link on a blog comment, I come across with the most endearing blogs. So I am surprised that it is only now that I find this darling little blog even though I read almost half of your blogroll! Looking forward to hearing more from you.

P.S. What a nice coincidence that the last commenter and I share the same name!

    • Hey Sadia! Salams and welcome to the blog. The person above you is one of the nicest people I know — and I’m sure it’ll be a pleasure to get to know you too. Masha Allah your lil one is adorable and it’s fun to read about what you guys are up to.

Thanks, hope to hear from you too!

  14. Good morning, thank you for the award nomination. Your work (both images and words) has inspired me to improve my photography and my attitude; therefore, I nominated you for The Very Inspiring Blogger award. Check it out : http://monahoward.com/2012/03/25/very-inspiring/

When I wrote this, I forgot to include directions: 1) Include the image of the award on your post, 2) acknowledge the person who nominated you & link back to his/her blog, 3) write a list of things about yourself [usually it’s 7], 4) nominate 7 or more bloggers.

  15. Dear Madam, Assalam alaikum, Even though I am a man I am writing to you on account of the impression I got after reading your narration about the help you provided to the poor girl of Dera Ismail Khan. On reading your article I reminded myself the truth that the almighty helps those who helps his creature. We are here to help the Almighties creature in what ever way we can. I feel that the right way of showing our behavior is that we should help others. These are the acts which will help us at the time when we will be helpless. I feel great when I help somebody in what ever manner I can. This happiness last longer and its real. So please accept my congratulation and pray for me also that Almighty give me strength to server Allah’s creatures in what ever manner I can.

    • Walaikumassalam wr! I’m sure you’ll go a long way in helping the creation of Allah! I can see some strong sentiments there!

Thanks for coming around and leaving a comment.

  16. Umm Anaal, good to see you have settled down post-”colourful past” :-) Your photographs are lovely and the fact that you do not take animate pictures is a fresh breath in this age of ‘me me & me’.

    • Walaikumassalam! Yes Manaal is my daughter Alhamdulillah, this blog is named after her.

Thank you so much for the wonderful, encouraging comment. I hope to see you around!

  18. Happy New Year to you, Mehmudah,

May 2013 be blossoming roses to you, and may you have happiness and joy.
